FAQs
When can my puppy join classes?
Our classes are open to all ages. We do advise that your puppy/ dog has completed their vaccination course before attending, unless otherwise advised by your vet.
Can more than one person attend?
Yes, although we do ask that no more than 2 people per dog attend to limit the number of people in the hall. It will help if everyone in the household or looking after your dog is using the same cues and signals so more than one person is welcome to attend.
Can I bring my children to classes?
We welcome children to get involved where possible, however they must be able to sit calmly in the hall and not run around, shout or try to touch the other dogs. A lot of the dogs that attend won’t have been around children and they can be scary.
My dog is not interested in treats, can I still join?
If your dog is not food motivated but is toy motivated then you can reward them with a toy instead. If your dog is nethier then please email me to discuss this info@npdogs.co.uk. There are exercises that we can do to make food more exciting or look at their feeding routine, it could also be that your dog is too overwhelmed by the environment to take the treats.
My dog barks at other dogs, are classes suitable for them?
We get a lot of barky dogs at classes and they often do very well. It depends on how intense the barking is and why your dog is barking, if your dog is stressed or is non-stop barking so that it is causing stress to the other dogs then it would not be beneficial to continue with the classes and this is something that can be discussed with the instructor or Nicole.
